Trey Flowers reportedly will sign with Lions, reunite with Matt Patricia

The Detroit Lions, having already signed one former New England Patriots player in Danny Amendola, have reportedly landed Trey Flowers.

The deal will reportedly net Flowers between $16-17 million per season.

It’s a natural fit that should do wonders for Detroit’s defense. Flowers will reunite with former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, who is now the head coach for the Lions.

The outside linebacker had a breakout 2018 campaign that boosted his stock significantly heading into the offseason.

The former fourth-round pick out of Arkansas proved himself to be one of the best all-around edge defenders in the league. Though his sack totals don’t jump off the page (21 sacks in four seasons), he is stellar against the run and can cover when he needs to as well.
