The Penn State Nittany Lions, already in a hole early against Iowa on Saturday, saw their top offensive player, quarterback Trace McSorley, go down with an injury to his right leg early in the second quarter.
McSorley went down and stayed down on the field, prompting the Penn State medical staff to examine him on the field. He did manage to get up and walk off, but clearly he was in some distress.
Trace McSorley is helped to his feet but needs the help of trainers to get off the field. The Penn State QB looked to grab his right leg after taking a third-down sack.

On the next play, Penn State snapped the ball out of the end zone, suffering its second safety of the game and giving Iowa a 14-7 lead.
After being examined in the medial tent, McSorley limped toward an exercise bike and began to see if he could loosen up. He then started jogging on the sideline, but still was replaced by Tommy Stevens on Penn State’s next offensive possession.
Before exiting the game, McSorley has thrown for 54 yards and one touchdown on 4-of-8 passing.
