The Texas Longhorns are in the midst of their best season since their 2009 BCS Championship appearance. An upcoming matchup against the Washington Huskies gives the Longhorns a chance to return to the College Football National Championship stage, and it’s all thanks to continued improvement from Steve Sarkisian’s talented recruits.

Yet, after enjoying excellent seasons from many top prospects, the Longhorns are set to lose a few players to the NFL over the offseason. Quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to return for another season, which should help the team maintain a strong record in 2024 too, but a few others have their eyes on the pros.

According to NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline, both tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell are planning to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. Sanders has reportedly already picked an agent out, and Mitchell is far along in the hiring process too.

Both pass-catching prospects are currently viewed as potential first or second-round talents. Sanders is widely viewed as the second-best tight end prospect in the draft class, behind Georgia’s Brock Bowers. The 6-foot-4, 256-pound player has accumulated just over 600 yards in each of his past two seasons and should have no trouble seeing the field as an NFL rookie.
