The Dallas Cowboy are having some fun this season. At 12-2 on the year and likely looking at the No. 1 seed in the NFC, it doesn’t take a genius to understand why.
And while Tony Romo’s season hasn’t been as plentiful as his team’s, he’s still in seemingly good spirits.
After Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott scored a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the rookie decided to jump inside the Salvation Army donation bucket (watch here).
It made a scene. He was penalized 15 yards for using it as a prop. The NFL profited off it by using the highlight film on its website. Zeke himself donated $21,000 to the Salvation Army.
It was all in good fun.
Romo, now the Cowboys’ backup quarterback, had to ask Elliott if the running back actually did do what it we at home saw him do.

“Did you just jump in the Salvation Army bucket?”
True to form, and just ripping on his young running back in a playful manner, Romo then called Zeke “stupid.”
The Grinch in this scenario, as expected, was Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, who made sure to let Elliott know that his antics drew a 15-yard penalty.
It’s all well and good when you’re winning.
