On Sunday, when Tom Brady and the New England Patriots close out their regular season against the Miami Dolphins, the GOAT will claim another NFL record.

As noted by NFL analyst Kerry Byrne, Brady will break Brett Favre’s record of 322 starts for a non-kicker, including playoffs.

Quite aside from the awe-inspiring longevity Brady has shown during his career — only suffering one season-ending injury in 20 campaigns — his overall record of 249-73 in his previous 322 starts stands out as particularly impressive.

Whether he plays another snap is irrelevant when it comes to Brady’s legacy, which is already set in stone. The six-time Super Bowl winner has been special since he first took over for Drew Bledsoe way back in 2001, and head coach Bill Belichick had an inkling of his greatness even before all that.
