New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was asked to comment on the upcoming Colin Kaepernick workout, and it’s clear he’s a big fan.

Speaking on Westwood One Thursday, Brady complimented Kaepernick for being “very mentally tough” and expressed excitement over the opportunity the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has Saturday.

“I think being a pro quarterback is very challenging in it of itself,” Brady said (h/t boston.com). “To have time off is a challenge, but Colin has overcome a lot of challenges in his career, and he’s always found a way to produce. He’s very mentally tough and I think it’s pretty cool that he’s getting that opportunity.”

Whether this opportunity is something that translates to a real chance for Kaepernick to play in the NFL again remains to be seen. Reportedly, at least 11 teams will have representatives attending his workout Saturday in Atlanta.

Kaepernick last played in the NFL during the 2016 season. He was released by the 49ers after that season and has not had an official workout for any team since that time. However, he’s clearly been staying in phenomenal shape and has been training for an NFL job five days a week since he last played.

For what it’s worth, these are the teams we believe should absolutely consider signing Kaepernick.
