Tom Brady might be getting cold feet on his $375 million Fox broadcasting deal

Feel free to stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but Tom Brady might be going back on his initial commitment. I know, it’s a tale we’ve already gone through with the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, but it’s time to do it again.

This time, it’s not his playing career or decision to retire from playing professional football, but instead, his agreement to sign a 10-year, $375 million sports broadcasting contract with Fox Sports could be on the rocks.

That’s the latest from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, who says the “Brady meter” was at 51% percent, meaning he was leaning toward fulfilling his broadcasting contract beginning in 2024. Only now, Marchand suggests the scale could be tipping the other way, with Brady leaning more toward placing a 51% chance Brady opts out of his deal with Fox Sports.

His biggest reasoning was that Brady might not want to travel as much as the NFL broadcasting schedule demands. Think about it, while he’s used to playing on the road, half of his games were still at his home base. That would no longer be the case, traveling from game to game with Fox.

Yet, the allure of making $37.5 million for one season, talking about the NFL on TV, well, that could attract him to the broadcast booth too. Obviously, Brady is a big enough figure to be able to make money elsewhere in plenty of other ways. We’ll see what ultimately unfolds, but according to Marchand, the idea of Brady for sure becoming a TV broadcaster is no longer set in stone.
