Tom Brady made headlines last Sunday when he erupted in a major way to New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

On Saturday ahead of New England’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Brady cleared the air, apologizing to McDaniels for his blow up.
“One thing I do want to say first, I want to apologize to (offensive coordinator) Josh (McDaniels) for last week in Buffalo,” Brady said, per Kevin Duffy of masslive.com. “I know our coaches work really hard, and they’re responsible for putting us in a great position to succeed. So I just wanted to get that off my chest.”
Brady launched into a heated tirade against McDaniels after he missed a throw to Brandin Cooks. On the replay, it was obvious that Brady had actually misread the play and missed a wide-open receiver, which we assume McDaniels was pointing out.
For his part, the coordinator, who’s had his fair share of clashes with Brady, brushed off the entire thing earlier this week.
“It’s a very competitive game, an emotional game. Things like that can happen,” McDaniels said Tuesday. “Being in the game a long time, and understanding Tommy’s a very emotional person, and player, it’s part of what makes him great. You understand those things happen. You know it’s never personal. You move on quickly from it. We did, and we have.”
It’s great that McDaniels doesn’t take it personally. But it’s also good that Brady respects his coach enough to issue a public apology for what he did. In the end, New England plowed over the Buffalo Bills last weekend, even with Brady having an off game, and moved to 10-2 heading into the final four games of the season.
