The Tennessee Titans hold the first pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and general manager Jon Robinson has told Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com that he’s already had inquiries about the pick.

“I’ve had a couple of conversations here and there. I think it is really more kind of exploratory at this point. As we get a little bit closer, a little bit more through the process with the combine and interviews and pro days, I expect there will be a few more exploratory calls, and there may not be. We’ll see.”

Given the number of teams that are possibly in the market for a quarterback, it’s not surprising that the Titans have heard offers.

Also, Tennessee already has Marcus Mariota as a franchise quarterback. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see them pull the trigger on a trade in an attempt to create a deeper roster, and Robinson has already made it clear the team is open to making a deal.

There are a few quarterbacks that could generate the interest needed to make a trade happen as well, namely Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch.

While it wouldn’t be surprising to see a trade, it’s not something that’s happened much in the history of the draft, especially in recent years.

The last time the first pick of the draft was traded was in 2001 when the San Diego Chargers traded the pick to the Atlanta Falcons, who then drafted Michael Vick. San Diego drafted LaDanian Tomlinson with the fifth pick they got from Atlanta and then selected Drew Brees in the second round.

The Chargers also traded first pick Eli Manning to the New York Giants in 2004, acquiring Philip Rivers, though that trade didn’t occur until after both men were drafted.

If the Titans do end up dealing the top pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, it’s going to garner quite the haul.
