New York Mets minor leaguer and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is now engaged after popping the question to longtime girlfriend Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in Florida on Wednesday.
Tebow surprised his now fiancée by flying her family from South Africa for the life-changing moment. People learned that Tebow’s proposal included this romantic quote before he popped the question.
“Demi Leigh Nel-Peters, I love you,” he said. “Demi Leigh Nel-Peters, will you marry me? “This ring is internally flawless,” Tebow continued as he presented her with a 7.25-carat engagement ring. “Just like you.”

“I actually wasn’t really nervous,” Tebow told People. “I was excited. I wanted everything to be perfect and to go smoothly. But I wasn’t nervous to actually ask her.”
Nel-Peters — a native of South Africa — is a former Miss Universe from back in 2017. Her and Tebow have been dating for some time now.
“I’m sure she’s got some great ideas (about the wedding),” Tebow said. “It’s going to be really exciting, and I can’t wait.”
