Tiger Woods hasn’t won a major championship in a decade. He’s also coming off a horrible showing at Shinnecock Hills, where he failed to make the cut at the 2018 U.S. Open.
None of that has stopped oddsmakers from including Woods among the favorites to win the British Open at Carnoustie next month, however.

This is the power of Tiger Woods, whose star power and previous golfing prowess made him a huge betting favorite ahead of the Masters in April.
It would be a mistake to say that Woods’ current comeback bid has been a flop. He’s clearly made progress and has the ability to win a tournament, even if that hasn’t happened yet.
That said, it’s pretty stunning that, despite the fact he hasn’t won a major in 10 years, and despite the fact that his last victory on the PGA Tour occurred back in 2013, he’s still being touted as a favorite to win the British Open in 2018.
