The point spread for Ohio State vs. Rutgers is comically lopsided

The Ohio State Buckeyes are visiting Rutgers Saturday and oddsmakers predictably don’t think the Scarlet Knights have much hope of pulling off the upset. The point spread is pure comedy.

Ohio State is favored to beat Rutgers by 52 points.

It’s not really crazy at all, though. Looking at the last three meetings between these two unequal opponents, that point spread may be a bit low.

So clearly, there’s a trend here. And this year’s Ohio State team may just be the most potent Buckeyes squad in a while.

There’s also another piece to this puzzle that gives us confidence the Buckeyes will cover this point spread. Maryland recently beat Rutgers, 48-7. Ohio State just beat Maryland by the obscene score of 73-14.

Something tells us the Buckeyes will have no trouble with this (-52) point spread Saturday.
