Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been raising funds through a GoFundMe account to help the fight against COVID-19.

Sam Ehlinger COVID-19 fundraiser made $200,000, provided 150,000-plus meals

On Sunday, he made an announcement on Twitter, thanking “everyone who generously donated to my COVID-19 fundraising effort.”

Through his GoFundMe account and private donations, Ehlinger raised “approximately $200,000” and will be able to provide over 150,000 meals while helping “many other people/organizations.”

Ehlinger started the GoFundMe account in late-March as the COVID-19 pandemic began to significantly impact the United States. His goal at the time was to raise $1 million.

While he did not ultimately meet that lofty goal, nobody can say Ehlinger did anything other than make a massive positive difference in his community.
