Texans starting RB Lamar Miller carted off with apparent knee injury

Thomas J. Russo, USA Today Sports

On the first drive of the game for the Houston Texans, starting running back Lamar Miller went down after taking a hit to his lower body.

Miller stayed on the ground, where he was attended to by trainers, who were looking at his left knee. Not long afterward, a cart came out to take him into the locker room.

The way Miller went down and immediately clutched at his knee is not an encouraging sign. Hopefully it’s just a sprain and not something more significant.

If Miller does miss significant time with a serious injury, then recently acquired Duke Johnson’s addition becomes that much more meaningful to the Texans.
