Houston Texans acquire tight end Adam Shaheen from Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins traded tight end Adam Shaheen to the Houston Texans on Tuesday.

The Dolphins also sent a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 to the Texans and received a sixth-rounder in 2023 from Houston.

Shaheen, 27, caught 12 passes for 110 yards in 12 games (seven starts) for Miami last season. He had 24 receptions for 260 yards and three scores in 28 games (12 starts) in two seasons with the Dolphins.

Shaheen was listed fifth on the depth chart released over the weekend by Miami.

Shaheen entered the NFL as a second-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2017. He played three seasons for Chicago and had 26 catches for 249 yards and four touchdowns.

Overall, he has 50 grabs for 509 yards and seven scores in 55 games (25 starts).
