Terrell Owens will receive HOF ring on Nov. 1 when 49ers host Raiders

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Wednesday that the class of 2018 would be honored at special halftime ceremonies during games this season. During these ceremonies, the newly inducted Hall of Famers will receive special Hall of Fame Rings of Excellence.

Terrell Owens famously did not attend the induction ceremony in Canton this past August, opting instead to hold his own ceremony at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

However, the Hall of Fame receiver won’t be skipping out on this latest honor. Instead, he will be on hand to receive his “Ring of Excellence” when the San Francisco 49ers host the Oakland Raiders on Nov. 1 of this year.

This is a Thursday night game, meaning this event will likely be highly publicized — even more so perhaps than other ceremonies, given Owens’ decision to abstain from attending in Canton.

The enigmatic, talented and controversial receiver recently released a video in which he takes fans behind the scenes of his personal ceremony at Chattanooga, along with making it clear he does not regret his actions.
