For some football fans, this is the best time of the year thanks to the unpredictability of the offseason. With the 2024 NFL Draft closing in quickly, no one knows what the Tennessee Titans will do, but that hasn’t prevented us from making our own predictions in their 7-round mock draft.
Once the NFL Draft begins, the chaos ensues, and the Titans will have to be prepared to make on-the-fly adjustments, just like the other 31 teams in the league. However, that doesn’t mean Titans GM Ran Carthon can’t start theorizing who he wants to add to Tennessee’s roster the most.
Boasting the seventh overall pick, the Titans are in a strong position to land one of the best prospects in the draft class. Unlike other teams picking at the top, the Titans don’t have a need for a quarterback, which means their odds of selecting the best player on their draft board will sharply increase. But who do the Titans want?
We may not have the answers to how the Titans’ draft board looks, but Vegas thinks they have an idea.
According to FanDuel, Notre Dame left tackle Joe Alt has become the overwhelming favorite to be drafted by the Titans at No. 7, with +100 odds. The players with the next-best odds are Penn State’s Olu Fashanu (+600) and Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga (+650).
Seeing three offensive tackles leading the charge should come as no surprise for a Titans team that had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL a season ago despite making Peter Skoronski the 11th overall pick in last year’s draft.
Yet, only three teams allowed more sacks than the Titans did, and now they’re breaking in a new quarterback as Will Levis enters his second season. Only now won’t he have Derrick Henry in the backfield to soak up the defense’s attention.
