Teddy Bridgewater to be evaluated Monday, could begin practicing

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s road to recovery continues. The fourth-year quarterback will have his knee evaluated next Monday to see if he is healthy enough to resume practice, according to a report by ESPN’s Kevin Seifert. This news comes directly from the Vikings athletic trainer Eric Sugarman.

At that point, the Vikings will decide to open a three-week practice window, according to the report. Bridgewater would then be either activated to the team’s 53-man roster or closed down for the season, per Seifert.

This news aligns with an October 8 report that said Bridgewater will “likely be activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after Week 6.”

Bridgewater’s recovery process has been an extremely lengthy one. The young quarterback suffered one of the most ghastly knee injuries in recent NFL history last August. He is making tremendous strides and the best case scenario here is he gains clearance to practice.

The Vikings are currently dealing with an ailing Sam Bradford whose duties have once again been shifted to backup Case Keenum.

Whatever the future holds for Bridgewater, either as a Viking or potential free agent in 2018, we wish him the best as he tries to return to 100 percent health.
