TCU coach Jamie Dixon wants more out of his team, especially on offense, after the Horned Frogs knocked off a ranked team for the second consecutive Saturday.

The Horned Frogs will work on it on the fly, taking on Oklahoma on Monday in Big 12 play at Norman, Okla.

“We’ve got to find ways to balance our offense,” Dixon said. “We’re an offense that’s a work in progress. We put a lot on Mike (Miles) and Damion (Baugh). We’ve got to keep getting more balance.”

Miles, TCU’s leading scorer, snapped out of a three-game slump last week, scoring 19 points in Saturday’s 77-68 win over No. 19 LSU.

During the four games beginning with TCU’s 59-58 home overtime win over Oklahoma on Jan. 15, Miles made just 11 of 46 shots (23.4%), and averaged 8.2 points a game — less than half his average of 17.9 for the rest of the season.

“I thought he was a little more patient early,” Dixon said of Miles against LSU.

The Horned Frogs (14-4, 3-3 Big 12) have alternated wins and losses over their last five games.

In a muddled Big 12, where the bottom eight teams are separated by just three games, the three-game stretch against unranked teams that begins Monday gives TCU a chance to climb in the race as it works to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018 and just the second time since 1998.

Oklahoma (13-8, 3-5) is looking to bounce back after falling to top-ranked Auburn 86-68 on Saturday in the Big 12/SEC Challenge for its fifth loss in six games.

“It’s very important,” Sooners point guard Jordan Goldwire said. “Big 12 play starts back up on Monday. It’s a short turnaround. We just have to refocus, lock in and do what we have to do to get that win on Monday.”

Goldwire, the fifth-year transfer from Duke, had a career game against the Tigers with 19 points, four assists and three steals with just one turnover. Goldwire had a combined 11 turnovers over the previous two games.
