Back in August, All-Star Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco became the subject of an investigation after reports emerged of an alleged inappropriate relationship with a minor. Then, more reports emerged of a possible second relationship with another young girl.

Then, in late December, Franco ignored a summons that demanded he report to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Children and Adolescents, located in the Dominican Republic.

Franco eventually showed up with his lawyers on Monday, where he was interrogated by multiple prosecutors. After the interrogation, Franco was then arrested, according to MLB insider Hector Gomez.

On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Franco will face a judge for his arraignment, at which time prosecutors are expected to request Franco stay in jail with no bail as the court process continues.

Last season, Franco was placed on MLB’s restricted list after the allegations surfaced via social media. He was then placed on administrative leave while MLB began their investigation into the matter. Franco has denied all allegations.
