Tampa Bay Lightning’s Ross Colton agrees to 2-year deal

Restricted free agent forward Ross Colton agreed to a two-year, $2.25 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, multiple media outlets reported on Monday.

Per reports, Colton will receive $1 million in the first season and $1.25 million in the second.

Colton, who made $700,000 this past season with the Lightning, was scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Aug. 16.

The 24-year-old Colton recorded 12 points (nine goals, three assists) in 30 games this past season. He added six points (four goals, two assists) in the playoffs, capped by his Stanley Cup-clinching goal in the second period of Tampa Bay’s 1-0 victory against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 5.

Colton was selected by the Lightning in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
