Tampa Bay Lightning to acquire David Savard from Columbus Blue Jackets

The Tampa Bay Lightning will acquire defenseman David Savard from the Columbus Blue Jackets, TSN reported on Saturday.

Savard has been notified of the transaction, per the report, however it was not immediately known what the Blue Jackets will receive in return.

Savard, 30, has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in 40 games this season. He has 166 points (41 goals, 125 assists) during his 10 seasons with the Blue Jackets, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Draft.

Savard is in the final season of a five-year, $21.25 million deal he signed in September 2015. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
