Talon Esports announced the team has “mutually” parted ways with Tal “Fly” Aizik and Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte ahead of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit Spring Tour.
Talon is coming off a fifth-place finish in the lower division of Southeast Asia’s Winter Tour.
“The ongoing impact of Covid-19 on travel restrictions in SEA has been a challenge for our players and we are proud to have them finish our first tour in Thailand together,” the team tweeted on Tuesday.
“Give how Covid-19 has already affected the competitive scene, we believe both players and management should share the same mindset and values to navigate through the remainder of this year. The ever-changing circumstances hasn’t allowed all parties to align optimally. Thus Fly and Gabbi have safely returned home and will be allowed to seek new teams, effective immediately.
Talon signed Fly away from Evil Geniuses. The 28-year-old Israeli native has also played for OG, Complexity and Team Secret, among others.
Gabbi is a 23-year-old from the Philippines who came to Talon in November after three years with TNC Predator.
Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, Damien “kpii” Chok and Brizio Adi “Hyde” Putra Budiana are Talon’s remaining players.
“We will be taking this time to reevaluate our roster and will be competing in the upcoming DPC SEA Tour.”
