T1 replaced injured mid-laner Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee with academy player Sung-won “Poby” Yoon for their League of Legends team’s 2023 LCK Summer Split matches.

Faker revealed following Sunday’s match against Nonshim RedForce that he has been plagued by an injury to his right hand since T1’s clash versus BRION on June 17.

“Faker will take a temporary break due to his injury starting with today’s match against DRX,” T1 announced on social media.

“… Fortunately, no major abnormalities were shown in the X-rays and MRI results.”

Faker, 27, signed a deal in November to remain with the South Korean organization through the 2025 season.

He joined T1 in 2013 and has won three world championships and two mid-season tournament trophies with the team, previously called SK Telecom T1.

Poby, 17, joined T1 Academy in August 2021 and moved onto T1 Challengers on May 22.
