Guard Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns’ leading scorer, was scratched from Sunday night’s game at the New Orleans Pelicans because of left-hamstring tightness.

“I didn’t see the normal ‘Book’ look,” Suns coach Monty Williams told reporters before tipoff. “As an organization, it’s just best to make sure he’s good.”

Booker is averaging 27.4 points and 5.8 assists in 26 games this season. He played 36 minutes in a 128-117 loss to New Orleans on Friday night, scoring 14 points. The three-time All-Star hit just 5 of 17 shots from the field, including 2 of 8 from 3-point range.

Sunday’s game will be the first Booker has missed all season.

Suns coach Monty Williams said Dario Saric, who played less than a minute on Friday night, going scoreless, would replace Booker in the starting lineup. Saric is averaging 3.7 points a game this season.
