Steve Kerr ‘on a good path’ and ‘confident I’ll be 100 percent’

Steve Kerr isn’t completely out of the woods as he recovers from complications that arose this past season stemming from back surgery. However, the Golden State Warriors head coach gave an encouraging update Friday about his condition, noting that he does expect to be 100 percent healthy.

Kerr missed a good portion of Golden State’s playoff run dealing with painful symptoms that kept him from being with his team. However, he was able to get well enough to make it back for the team’s NBA Finals victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers — the second championship in three years for the Warriors.

Crazy enough, Golden State got even better this offseason and looks poised to make a repeat run, which Kerr touched on as well Friday.

The Warriors have taken huge steps forward since Kerr took over for Mark Jackson in 2014. Obviously the team did well without Kerr taking part directly in coaching throughout the playoffs. But there’s no doubt Golden State is better off with Kerr — healthy and happy — than it is without him.
