Steve Kerr calls LaVar Ball ‘the Kardashian of the NBA’

Steve Kerr Golden State Warriors Game 2 2017 NBA Finals

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is a former member of the media. It’s in this that he’s really never been afraid to express his opinion on what’s happening in the world.

In no way did that change prior to Monday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets. In talking about LaVar Ball and the media spotlight that’s been placed on Lonzo’s father, Kerr most definitely didn’t hold back.

Here, you will hear the two-time NBA champion head coach call Ball the Kardashian of the NBA. Really.

Kerr also openly wondered why the media actually covers LaVar, coming to the conclusion that the enigmatic helicopter father is more of a societal issue and a representation of sensationalism in the media world today. Not only that, Kerr went on to put ESPN on blast for laying off good journalists that actually focused on sports.

In one respect, Kerr is absolutely 100 percent correct here. LaVar equals page clicks and revenue stream. His personality makes him a talked-about figure, much like the man he’s beefed with recently. On the other hand, continuing to give Ball these sound bites are only going to fuel his fire even more.

Kerr’s latest comments come after LaVar called out current Lakers head coach and former Warriors assistant Luke Walton. The two are still good friends after Walton departed the Warriors a couple years back. Obviously, Kerr has some sort of a dog in this fight.
