The fourth-year running back from LSU had taken on the primary ball-carrier duties for New England prior to going down with the season-ending injury on Sunday. In his last full game, Ridley put up 113 yards and a score on 27 attempts against a tough Cincinnati Bengals defensive front.
Ridley’s best season came back in 2012 when he tallied nearly 1,300 yards and 12 scores.
With Ridley now lost for the season, Shane Vereen is next in line to take over as the Patriots starting running back. This also means that rookie James White will likely take on a larger role moving forward.
