Stephen Jones expresses confidence in Jason Garrett, Cowboys coaching staff

Despite dropping three of their last four games and two in a row to fall to 6-6 on the season, the Dallas Cowboys are sticking with head coach Jason Garrett. At least for now.

Following the team’s embarrassing loss at home to the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving Day, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones echoed what his father, owner Jerry Jones, has said about Garrett’s job security.

Jones also thinks the ‘Boys are set up to rebound like they did last year after starting 3-5.

Then Jones included the team’s top assistants discussing why he believes the Cowboys are going to get back on the winning track.

We know how desperate the Cowboys are to win right now. Garrett’s decision to go for it on fourth down from inside their own 20-yard line yesterday was as clear a sign as you’ll see in the NFL of a struggling team’s desperation level.

Though, we’re not as confident as the Joneses are about Garrett and Co. turning things around. Especially given the way Garrett has consistently come up short in key situations. Sure, the Cowboys may still win the NFC East, but given the weak competition in the division that’s not a big deal.

When it comes time to beat winning teams with playoff aspirations of their own, the ‘Boys have come up woefully short so far this season and appear to be nothing more than fool’s gold when it comes being a title contender.
