Stephen Curry to meet with Kevin Durant in New York, per report

It’s not yet known whether free agent Kevin Durant is going to be taking meetings from teams as he sets up shop in New York City.

What we do know is that four teams are in on Durant with free agency opening Sunday evening. Among those teams, the Golden State Warriors can offer $57 more than any other squad if they were to re-sign Durant.

Durant himself will now reportedly meet with Warriors general manager Bob Myers and teammate Stephen Curry in the Big Apple ahead of free agency later this weekend.

Can Curry talk the injured Durant into returning to Northern California? That’s a major question mark heading into free agency.

Durant and Curry have earned three consecutive Western Conference championships and two NBA titles in three seasons together. They are largely considered one of the greatest duos in modern league history.

In addition to the Warriors, Durant is considering both New York-based teams and the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency.

Despite likely being sidelined for all of next season with a ruptured Achilles, Durant is expected to get a super-max contract offer from Golden State.
