Stephen Curry responds to Gregg Popovich’s criticism of today’s NBA

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich wouldn’t seem to be a fan of the increased use of three-pointers in the NBA. Naturally, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry doesn’t quite agree.

Popovich was quoted as saying “There’s no basketball anymore. There’s no beauty in it. It’s pretty boring.”

Curry responded, simply saying “nope.”

Some disagreement here was only natural.

Curry not only holds the single-season record for most threes made, but occupies each of the top-three spots and four of the top-five. The only top-five season not belonging to Curry belongs to his teammate, Klay Thompson.

While some of Popovich’s past San Antonio teams have depended on the three, the current squad does not. The Spurs have attempted 24.7 threes a game this season. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers have attempted less.

So, we can’t exactly be surprised that there’s some disagreement.
