The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to be among the most stable organizations in professional sports. Here’s a team that’s had a total of three head coaches since 1969.
One of those coaches is now going to be honored as an all-time great. The Steelers announced on Saturday that they will induct Bill Cowher into the team’s Hall of Fame.
Cowher, 62, served as Pittsburgh’s head coach from 1992-2006, leading the team to a 149-90-1 record.
The Steelers earned 10 playoff appearance, two AFC Championship titles and a Super Bowl championship in his 15 seasons as head coach.
Cowher himself took to social media to thank the organization for this honor.
Congrats, coach. Well deserved.
