Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster leaves game with concussion

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense was already struggling to do anything of substance Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns.

The last thing they needed once James Conner exited with a shoulder injury was another skill-position player going down. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened in the first half.

No. 1 receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a concussion in the second quarter. The team almost immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

That’s not a great thing for this struggling squad. Even with Smith-Schuster having a down season, he remains their best receiving option.

The Pro Bowler caught just 2-of-4 targets for 21 yards before going down with the injury. Pittsburgh trailed 14-0 at the half.

The only positive news here is that there’s a long week before Thursday night’s game and Pittsburgh’s next outing Nov. 24 against Cincinnati.
