Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin does not miss Le’Veon Bell

Despite the team’s struggles, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is pining for holdout running back Le’Veon Bell. Quite the opposite.

Tomlin was asked on Wednesday if he missed having Bell around. His response didn’t leave much to the imagination.

We can’t say that this is terribly surprising. Even when a 2018 return was possible for Bell, Tomlin wasn’t exactly speaking highly of him.

Tomlin may not miss Bell personally. But his team certainly misses him on the field.

Pittsburgh has had team rushing totals of 75, 65, and 40 yards over the last three games. Not coincidentally, all of those games resulted in losses. With James Conner still nursing a bad ankle sprain, the chances of that improving dramatically in Week 15 against the New England Patriots aren’t great.

Even if Tomlin doesn’t miss Bell, the Steelers sure could use someone like him.
