Becky Hammon is a rising star in the NBA coaching profession, and Macy’s has included the San Antonio Spurs assistant in its latest campaign.
As part of the “Remarkable You” advertisements showing “real, remarkable women,” Hammon is the first person featured in one of the commercials. The ad shows her preparing for a game and walking into an arena.

Hammon, a six-time WNBA All-Star, has served as a Spurs assistant since 2014. This season, she’ll replace James Borrego ― now the Charlotte Hornets head coach ― on the front of San Antonio’s bench.
Within the calendar year, she’s also been linked to the men’s basketball coaching search at her alma mater Colorado State, as well as the Milwaukee Bucks.
At this point, it seems Hammon’s future as head coach of a men’s team is a matter of when, not if. She already has the support of Spurs forward Pau Gasol and Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson, and Gregg Popovich isn’t a bad reference, either.
Hammon has earned and deserves this spotlight.
