Sports world reacts to XFL botching end of game, with 2 seconds left on clock

Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker took a knee at the end of the fourth quarter against the Seattle Dragons and everyone thought the game was over, except it wasn’t. Replay showed there was two seconds left on the clock and that the Dragons should have gotten the ball back at the 23-yard line, down by nine points with an outside shot of tying the game up.

Unfortunately, the refs ran off the field immediately after calling game, and the XFL determined it could not get everyone back to play the final two seconds of the contest. And honestly, the explanation from the league was brutally bad.

It was a total mess, to be sure, and fans ripped into the XFL for this big-time faux pas.

Embarrassing is right. The XFL is already starting to lose fans with ratings and attendance falling with each week since a big opener. This won’t help matters.
