Simon Pagenaud opened the 103rd running of the Indy 500 in pole position. At the end of the race, he was still in first after a spectacular dual with Alexander Rossi down the stretch.

Rossi overtook Pagenaud with three laps to go, setting up an incredible finish. Taking it right back, Pagenaud made a sweet move to reclaim the lead with two laps remaining.

Pagenaud held off Rossi with an incredible defensive maneuver on the final turn for the stunning victory.

Pagenaud’s win capped off a legendary month of May, as he pulled off a clean sweep.
