South Carolina will be without longtime starting quarterback Jake Bentley for at least the next six weeks. Various reports indicate that the senior has suffered a broken foot following the Gamecocks’ season-opening loss to North Carolina.
This has to be seen as a major blow for head coach Will Muschamp and Co. Bentley did struggle to the tune of 16-of-30 passing for 152 yards with two fourth quarter interceptions against North Carolina.
However, he’s been a full-time starter for South Carolina over the past three seasons. An inexperienced signal caller in that of true freshman and four-star recruit Ryan Hilinski will be under center for the foreseeable future.
