Sooners’ star RB Rodney Anderson exits with apparent right knee injury

Sooners running back Rodney Anderson

As the Oklahoma Sooners roll out to an early lead over the UCLA Bruins, their immediate concern now centers around star running back Rodney Anderson. More specifically, around his right knee.

The junior running back suffered a leg injury and limped off the field after a 10-yard run. Trainers immediately started to examine his right knee on the sideline then walked with him to the locker room.

Before he exited, Anderson racked up 19 rushing yards and a touchdown. The junior, who ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns in Oklahoma’s opener, is a critical piece of Oklahoma’s offense.

If he is sidelined for an extended period of time, the Sooners will rely on sophomore running back Trey Sermon to step into a much larger role going forward.
