Manchester City are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing run of results with a game against Wolves in the Premier League this weekend.

It has been a dreadful week for Pep Guardiola’s side, even though they’ve signed two excellent players this January in Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi.

Firstly, they lost to Man United in the Manchester derby, allowing Arsenal to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. City then suffered an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League.

After their loss to Bodo/Glimt, the Man City players personally reimbursed their fans who made the trip to Norway to watch the game. That shows just how bad the defeat was for Pep Guardiola’s side.

On the positive side, both Semenyo and new signing Guehi are available to play for Manchester City against Wolves this weekend, so Guardiola could have a revamped starting XI.

GK – Gianluigi Donnarumma – Donnarumma starts in goal, as he has been one of the only bright sparks in the past few games.

LB – Nico O’Reilly – It will either be O’Reilly or Rayan Ait-Nouri playing against his former side on Saturday, but we have gone with the youngster as our preferred option.

CB – Marc Guehi – City need Guehi badly at the moment, with the likes of Gvardiol, Stones and Ruben Dias all out injured.

CB – Abdukodir Khusanov – As City have the aforementioned injuries, Khusanov will likely partner with Guehi at centre-back.

RB – Matheus Nunes – Nunes is currently dealing with an illness, but if he is fit before weekend, then he will likely start on Saturday.

CDM – Rodri – Influential midfielder Rodri picked up a red card against Bodo/Glimt, but even so, we expect Guardiola to start him against Wolves at the weekend.

CM – Bernardo Silva – The Manchester City captain keeps his place in the starting lineup, even though he is due for some rest.

CM – Tijani Reijnders – The Dutchman comes in for Phil Foden, who has struggled with form recently and is also dealing with a broken hand.

Semenyo and Cherki start in attack with Haaland

LW – Rayan Cherki – Cherki replaces Belgian winger Jeremy Doku, as Cherki scored against Bodo/Glimt last time out.

RW – Antoine Semenyo – Semenyo has had a bright start for Man City since his signing. So he will hope to continue his fine form and make a difference against Wolves.

CF – Erling Haaland – Haaland has been poor in front of goal in the Premier League recently. So he will hope to get back on the scoresheet this weekend but it’s unlikely that Guardiola will drop him.

A win over Wolverhampton Wanderers would likely lift spirits at the Etihad and give City much needed momentum to continue challenging for the league title.
