Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has responded to Harry Kane’s admission that he could extend his stay at the Allianz Arena beyond 2027.

Kane, who joined the German heavyweights in the summer of 2023, recently visited a fan club where he opened the door to extending his contract well beyond his current deal.

When asked by reporters about these “positive signals” from Harry Kane during a recent media chat, Dreesen did not hide his satisfaction at the comments.

According to the executive, Bayern views the England captain as the cornerstone of the club’s current project and welcomed the player’s public declaration of commitment.

“If he said that, then I am happy about it,” Dreesen said at a fan club. “He is very important to our team with his goals, his style of play and his leadership skills.”

Contract talks with Harry Kane planned for the “appropriate time”

Harry Kane’s current contract is set to expire in June 2027, and the Bavarian club is approaching the window where extension talks typically become a priority.

With Kane playing in likely his last World Cup with the Three Lions of England at 32 years of age, the next contract signed by the striker will likely be the last major deal of his impressive career.

While Dreesen stated that there is no immediate panic to put pen to paper, he has assured fans that the contract situation will be resolved at the right moment.

“We will certainly speak to each other at the appropriate and right time,” Dreesen said. “We have great trust in the process and in Harry.”

Harry Kane has become an integral player in the Bayern squad since his 2023 arrival from Tottenham. The relationship between the player’s camp and the board also remains strong, as evidenced with him being a mainstay in Vincent Kompany’s starting XI.
