Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s most popular soccer star and widely considered as the greatest player of all time, depending on which fan you ask.

Ever since his senior debut as a 17-year-old for Sporting Lisbon in August 2002, Ronaldo quickly established himself in the game. His talent on the ball soon caught the eyes of Sir Alex Ferguson, who then signed him for Manchester United in 2003 and the rest, as they say, is history.

Indeed, the Portuguese superstar has gone on to set numerous records over the years, both on and off the field for club and country.

Those achievements haven’t gone unnoticed either, with Man United legend and former striker Dwight Yorke now predicting Ronaldo’s next move when he finally retires from playing soccer.

Dwight Yorke says Cristiano Ronaldo can become a Hollywood actor

Much speculation have been made about what Cristiano Ronaldo would do next after his retirement. And despite the 40-year-old Al-Nassr captain continuing to perform at the highest level of the game, fans and pundits are still waiting to find out his future plans.

However, United legend Dwight Yorke has said that Ronaldo will likely end up becoming a Hollywood movie star after retirement. Speaking in an interview earlier this month, Yorke told PokerScout:

“I think that given what Cristiano Ronaldo has done in the game and what he’s achieved, a bit similar to Lionel Messi, why would filmmakers not want to engage with someone with his profile and as good-looking as he is, he’s got everything going for him, why not entice him?”

“You’ve seen all these singers and rappers getting into acting. So why can’t we, from sports, have people like Ronaldo in that same circle? We see it all the time, and it’s fine for these rappers and musicians to make that sort of step up to the big screen.”

Yorke reveals ‘best’ movie franchise for Ronaldo

Dwight Yorke also stated that he would love to see Ronaldo join a storied movie franchise like Fast and Furious, if he makes that decision.

“It would be good to see Cristiano Ronaldo in one of these major films like Fast and Furious, if that is true. It brings excitement,” he said.

“You know what he’s bringing, he’s the most followed person on social media. All of that. As a producer, why would you not engage in something like that?

To me, it’s a no-brainer… PelĂ© did Escape to Victory back in the day, and it’s amazing how things come full circle,” he added.

Dwight Yorke is regarded as one of the most successful players in Manchester United history, playing for the club from 1998 to 2002. He was part of United’s historic 1998-99 treble-winning season, where he netted 29 goals and formed a lethal partnership with Andy Cole in attack.

He quickly became a fan favourite at Old Trafford and is also known as the first non-European player to reach 100 Premier League goals.
