Slovenia rallied to defeat Romania on Sunday and became the final nation to advance to the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup in November.

Romania led 2-0 after Friday’s action, but Tamara Zidansek defeated Ana Bogdan and Kaja Juvan beat Jaqueline Cristian in singles play to level the match on Saturday.

Saturday’s deciding doubles match was suspended overnight at 3-3 in the first set due to inclement weather. When play resumed Sunday, Juvan and Zidansek pulled off a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 comeback against Irina Bara and Monica Niculescu.

Slovenia became the first nation since 2015 to come back from an 0-2 deficit to win a Billie Jean King Cup tie.

Defending champion Switzerland and last year’s runner-up Australia automatically qualified for the finals. Along with Slovenia, the other nations advancing from this weekend’s qualifiers were the United States, Czech Republic, Spain, Kazakhstan, France, Germany, Italy and Canada.
