Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey, family OK after house fire

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey and his family escaped unharmed from a Christmas Eve fire at his home in Voorhees, N.J.

No injuries were reported from the blaze that broke out around 7 p.m. ET on Friday night, according to the Cherry Hill Courier-Post. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Maxey, 21, is averaging 17.0 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 29 games (28 starts) in his second season with the Sixers, who drafted him in the first round (21st overall) out of Kentucky in 2020.

Philadelphia returns to the court Sunday against the host Washington Wizards.
