Shane van Gisbergen will contest the full NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule alongside seven select Cup Series races in his debut season in the United States.
He will do so with Kaulig Racing in alliance with Trackhouse Racing who owns the contractual rights to the three-time Australian Supercars series champion. SVG made headlines across the world in July when he won the inaugural Cup Series race on the Streets of Chicago in his debut at the highest level driving the Trackhouse Project 91 entry.
That started conversations about a full-time transition to NASCAR, a plan that will come to fruition driving the full-time Xfinity Series slate and select Cup Series races with a fellow Chevrolet team in Kaulig.
The Cup Series schedule include:
- Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin on March 24
- Talladega Superspeedway on April 21 and October 6
- Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26
- Chicago Street Race on July 7
- Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International on Sept. 15
- Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 20.
In addition to his victory in his maiden outing at Chicago, he also finished 10th in his second Cup Series outing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August while also finishing 17th in both his pavement oval and Truck Series debut at IRP on Brickyard weekend.
SVG also has 80 Supercar wins, 48 pole positions and is overall the fourth most successful Supercars Series driver of all-time. He also won the premier Bathurst 1000 in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Now he tackles NASCAR full-time.
