Second half of South Carolina State vs. Clemson shortened to 12-minute quarters

After taking a 45-0 lead into halftime, Clemson (No. 5) was afforded a shortened second half against South Carolina State.

The two teams agreed to shorten the final two quarters before the second half began.

Thank goodness for mercy.

South Carolina State was absolutely outmatched from the beginning of the game until the end of the second quarter.

Deshaun Watson finally had a nice game on the stat sheet, finishing with 152 yards on 12-of-15 passing with three touchdowns. The Tigers ran in two more scores on offense, and Clemson scored a special teams touchdown when a Bulldogs kick returner made a huge mistake failing to take a knee (watch here).

The rout was on at that point, and the Bulldogs just had no chance of competing with Dabo Swinney’s squad.
