Seahawks’ WR David Moore to miss Week 1 with serious shoulder injury

In an offseason that has already seen Doug Baldwin retire and rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf sidelined by knee surgery, Seattle suffered another blow to its receiving corps this week.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced on Friday that wide receiver David Moore suffered a serious shoulder injury and will likely miss the start of the season.

While the severity of Moore’s shoulder injury isn’t yet known, the team even considering putting him on injured reserve is a troubling sign for his availability.

Moore was a bright spot for Seattle in 2018 with five touchdowns and 445 receiving yards on only 26 receptions. A seventh-round pick in 2017, he was expected to start and play a major role this year.

Now with Metcalf and Moore sidelined, the Seahawks will need Jaron Brown, Gary Jennings Jr. and Amara Darboh to step into much larger roles.
