Quinton Dunbar trade

The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly made a trade with Washington for cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who would certainly upgrade their secondary.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson shared the breaking news Monday evening.

It’s a pretty good deal for the Seahawks, too, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports they are offering a fifth-round pick in exchange for the cornerback.

Dunbar has been asking Washington for a trade or to be released all offseason after being rebuffed in contract discussions with the team. He has been the best cornerback for the franchise the past couple of years, during which time he tallied 76 tackles and six interceptions.

The Seahawks will immediately be better against the pass due to this move, and they didn’t have to give up much to land Dunbar, to boot. Now, the franchise will need to reward him for his strong play as Dunbar is set to make just over $3.4 million this season, with no guaranteed money in the deal.
