Seattle quarterback Geno Smith briefly exited the Seahawks’ Monday night game against the New York Giants due to a knee injury before returning to action in East Rutherford, N.J.
Smith got hurt in early in the second quarter and missed two series but was back at the start of the third period.
Smith was injured after catching his own pass following a deflection. He was tackled along the sideline by the Giants’ Isaiah Simmons and was slow to get up, but he remained in the game for one more play before being sent to the medical tent on the Seahawks’ sideline.
Following several minutes in the tent, Smith was carted to the locker room. He is questionable to return.
Prior to exiting, Smith completed 9 of 11 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Drew Lock took over under center, leading Seattle on a TD drive that sent the visitors into halftime with a 14-3 lead.
Entering Monday, Smith had thrown for 736 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in three games this season.
