Seahawks’ Jeremy Lane to cops during DUI arrest: ‘I was more high than anything else’

Jeremy Lane

There’s this saying out there in the legal profession. Don’t say anything more than you have to when it comes to talking to the authorities. After all, everything you say can be used against you in a court of law.

It’s possible that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane was too high off marijuana Sunday evening to remember this cardinal sin. While being arrested for an alleged DUI in the state of Washington, Lane apparently told cops that he was “more high than anything else.”

This absurd information comes via TMZ Sports, and it’s pretty darn ridiculous.

“Cops also say they could smell weed coming from Lane’s 2006 Dodge Charger … and Lane admitted to smoking 3 hours before getting pulled over,” the report noted. “The arresting officer explained that he could in fact be arrested for being under the influence of weed … and even addresses Lane’s tweets about the incident, admitting he still probably doesn’t understand.”

Marijuana is legal in the state of Washington for recreational use. In no way does that mean it’s legal to actually drive while under the influence of the “drug.” Let’s not even talk about Lane mixing marijuana and alcohol before getting into a car.

As the great Forrest Gump once said, “stupid is as stupid does.”
